guilty scheduling secret revealed

we have a few patients with a reputation for lateness.  we try very hard to stay on schedule, and the flow of the office is definitely better when patients show up on time.  so when we make appointments for this select group of patients, we tell them their appointment is 15 minutes earlier than it actually is. we give them a fake appointment card. so i always feel slightly guilty when i see them signing in, ten minutes late for their false appointment time, but five minutes early for me. emphasis on slightly.

  1. One must do what becomes necessary in the course of human events !~! Good for you for finding a solution that works for everyone.

  2. I do the same thing with my husband. He's habitually late for EVERYTHING... So I tell him we are due for all plans 30 minutes earlier than we really are. Sadly, he's frequently late anyway.
