it's a generational thing

at least once a week i see an older woman for acute knee or back pain who starts her story off like this: 'well, i was on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor - '  ??!! -  wait a minute, you were what?  who does that?  i don't know a single woman (or man) in my 40-something age group that scrubs a floor on their hands and knees.  i think to myself, girl, you need a swiffer.

  1. I do but then I am 54 and have been maltreated !~! Actually I am not allowed with this current husband--bad back, bad knees and a man who won’t tolerate seeing me in that position.

  2. It's the only way to get the side boards clean. You obviously don't know any Army brats.

  3. My 72 year old mother scrubs floors on her hands and knees frequently and, as much as I hate to admit it, so do I--though far less often than she.

  4. I do that with my bathroom floor. There's really no other way to do it. (and I'm 35.)

  5. Dave, believe it or not, scrubs the kitchen floor on his hands and knees. Which is a good thing because I don't do it kneeling or standing.

  8. Beth, I will provide you with a little solidarity. Swiffer all the way! Whether you are on your hands and knees or swiping, it still gets dirty again in the same amount of time. Save the knees and the time!
